many hours can I work and not affect my unemployment or Sub? ANSWER: 1. Rule of thumb, Unemployment takes .50
cents for every dollar earned. You must claim the money earned in the week you
earn it. 2. If you are attending college part time and have a return to
work date, you answer no to the question regarding starting school. If you get
laid off indefinitely in February you must register for work with Michigan
Works. Then you must be available for work. There are certain waivers available
for people attending school. Contact the hotline for more information at
866-845-0077. 3. If my last
day worked is December 23rd. my effective date of layoff is January 5th. (
full time employee) I call Marvin the week of January 19th (see the layoff cheat
sheets. QUESTION : When
can I apply for Direct Deposit of my Unemployment? ANSWER: Everyone
will get a debit card after your claim is filed January 5th. After
you receive a monetary determination letter regarding your claim you can go on
line or call 866-845-0077 and apply for direct deposit. If
you don't apply for direct deposit, the first two transactions on the debit card
are free. After that, there will be
a fee unless you use a Chase ATM. Keep your debit card, even if you do apply for
direct deposit, it has important information on it regarding your claim.
If you take the debit card to you bank and deposit it in your
account you won't incur a fee. QUESTIONS We realize that there will be
