!!ATTENTION ALL 5960 MEMBERS!!

Due to the fact that Federal Unemployment extensions have not been renewed, it is extremely important that all UAW Local 5960 members certify through Michigan Works for Trade Readjustment Allowance ( TRA ) and Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA).  If the Federal extensions are not renewed, your unemployment would be picked up by the TRA but only if you are signed up and certified for TAA.  If you do experience a lapse in benefits you should continue to certify with MARVIN on your correct “hit” day and time.  Your Unemployment Insurance account will be brought up to date when your benefits are subsequently certified.  TRA and TAA FAQs

Some of  5960 's younger seniority employees will begin to transition to TSP as their SUB Benefits run out. Please be aware that if you accept a lump sum from the TSP Program, you will sever all ties with GM. To keep your GM Benefits and recall rights, opt for the weekly TSP payments.

!! ATTENTION ALL UAW 5960 MEMBERS !!

It has come to our attention that some members, who have volunteered to work in the area-hire pool, have been offered work at other UAW/GM locations and are unsure if they have to report or can turn down the offer.  We have been advised by the International UAW that if you volunteer through the UAW/GM NAT Hire web site to work in your area-wide hire and you are offered a job you must accept or your will be placed on Personal Leave and lose all of your UAW/GM benefits.  If you have further questions please call the NAT Hire Office at 1-800-628-4473.
